Obama’s rating stagnant after jobs bill push

Day after day, President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats have pushed their jobs bills — as they did again Wednesday in Georgetown and on Capitol Hill — but there’s little evidence the message is resonating outside the Beltway.

Even as Senate Democrats repeatedly force Republicans to vote against jobs measures, voters’ opinions about Democrats remain mixed. Obama saw a slight bump in the polls himself, but pollsters say it’s not directly attributable to his jobs rhetoric.

Obama’s $447 billion jobs bill was easily defeated, but even the component parts of it are coming up short.
