Rep. Gerry Connolly dismissed the Iowa caucuses as underwhelming on Tuesday due to “[l]ittle diversity in [the] state.”

In his Tuesday morning tweet, the Virginia Democrat also accused the media of giving Iowa too much attention.

“#IowaCaucus will draw fewer voters than local elections in Fairfax County[, Virgina]. Little diversity in state,” tweeted Connolly. “Media attention is just shy of obscene”

The Iowa caucuses are the first in a series of contests nationwide that will decide which Republican presidential candidate will face off against President Barack Obama in November.
