Janet Yellen testified before the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday, yet the Federal Reserve chair was unable to specify the national labor participation rate when asked.

You also talked earlier about the 80,000 jobs per month that this economy is generating,” posed New Hampshire Congressman Frank Guinta. “Can you tell me … what the labor participation rate is right now?”

“Um, no. Let me just,” Yellen stated before rifling through her notes.

Twenty-eight seconds later, she stated, “it’s currently 62.8 percent.”
