Who Is Evan McMullin, And Why Is He Making Hannity So Angry?

Evan McMullin is an independent conservative candidate for President of the United States, and I plan to write him in when I vote in Indiana on November 8. I can’t vote for either of the completely unacceptable candidates from the two major parties, nor the completely unacceptable candidates from the two minor parties. So I’m voting McMullin. If you insist that I vote for somebody who isn’t going to win anyway, I’d prefer to be able to sleep at night.

Up until now, the conventional wisdom on McMullin was: “McWho? Are you trying to order an Egg McMuffin?” Which is a clever joke, pointing to McMullin’s obscurity and his shaved, egg-like head. He’s not a threat, the conventional wisdom goes. He’s just an ordinary, everyday breakfast sandwich. He’s harmless.

Or… is he?

With less than two weeks left until Election Day, Sean Hannity went off on a tirade during his radio show this afternoon, aiming his barbs at #NeverTrump conservatives and independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin, who has made Utah a toss up state…

“All this garbage from you Never Trumper jerks out there,” Hannity shouted. “I’ve had it. By the way, that’s more unfinished business. November 9th, I have a lot to say about all of you.”

Uh-oh! I don’t know about you guys, but the idea of Sean Hannity yelling at me after the election is really making me reconsider my vote. WWHD?

Then the Great American went after McMullin:

“Who’s this idiot that’s running third party that’s killing Trump out in Utah,” the Fox News star exclaimed. “Who put him up? What was it? The Bush people? The Romney people?”

“What a disaster that would be for the country,” Hannity said in regards to McMullin possibly getting Hillary Clinton elected.

When If Hillary Clinton gets elected, it’ll be because the GOP nominated a total loser. And if you backed that total loser, even when it was obvious to everybody else that he was a total loser, you have to find somebody else to blame. Who better than the people who refused to back your total loser?

Blaming #NeverTrump for the election of President Grandma is like blaming Republicans for the failure of Obamacare. When all your plans blow up in your face, when all your wishcasting has been for naught, you have to lash out at the people who were right all along.

Hannity isn’t alone in blaming the messengers:

Threats and invective. Do what these people want you to do, or they’re gonna getcha. Sounds like the winning team to me.

I’ve resisted a cult of personality for the past 8 years. I’m not about to join another one.

You don’t owe anything to Hannity or Dobbs or Ingraham or any of them. And you certainly don’t owe anything to a minor-leaguer like me. Your vote is your own. If you really think Trump deserves your vote because you hate Hillary Clinton that much, I’m not going to threaten or cajole you out of it. Do what you think you need to do. But if you just can’t bring yourself to vote for either of them, I humbly suggest you take a closer look at Evan McMullin.

If you don’t, be ready to face the wrath of the dreaded Mormon Mafia!
