Looking for some holiday reading or movie-viewing? Christopher Malagisi is the energetic editor in chief of the Conservative Book Club, called the “Oprah Winfrey book club for the right,” and has listed 2016’s best books for conservatives.

He believes The New York Times doesn’t give conservative books a fair shake, but with his organization, you can find a one-stop shop.

In this exclusive end-of-the-year video interview for The Daily Caller News Foundation, Malagisi reveals the top 10 conservative books for 2016, the five runners up and the top seven conservative movies of 2016.

The top ten books discussed in this video interview include:

Authors making the honorable mention list include: Ann Coulter, Megyn Kelly, Brad Thor, Phyllis Schlafly and a graphic novel creator.

Some of the top conservative movies of 2016 include: “13 Hours,” “Hell or High Water,” “Hacksaw Ridge,” “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party” “Captain America: Civil War, Risen and Silence.”

American culture has been dominated by the left, he says, as students are not being taught why America is exceptional. To him, conservatism is simply conserving the best from 2,500 years of human history that culminated in our Constitution guaranteeing liberty and rights previously unknown across the planet.

In America’s form of government, citizens were entrusted to run their own republic and have great capacity to be self-governing, with only a limited government that was to be held accountable by the people.

Now, Malagisi asks how do people preserve what they do not really understand.

On the hopeful side, he says, “I think people learn or could learn more about politics by engaging the culture through entertainment, whether it is books, movie, TV, music or art,” he says. This is why Malagisi’s work is focused on books, movies and TV at the successful Conservative Book Club, an organization with some 850,000 members.
