Ezekiel Elliot is so mad at the NFL that he decided to sue them. Elliot claims the league conspired to hide critical information about the domestic abuse case that this whole ordeal stems from. The NFLPA filed a petition stating that Elliot was not treated fairly after being suspended for six-games.
Elliot was accused of violating the leagues personal conduct policy after his ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson, accused him of domestic violence.
According to CBS Sports, “The petition states that the ‘conspiracy’ to ‘hide critical information’ was designed to hide said information from Roger Goodell, his outside advisors on the Elliott discipline, the NFLPA and Elliott, the Dallas Cowboys and NFL fans.”
The lawsuit claims Elliot was not allowed to look at the notes from the interviews of Thompson conducted by the NFL.
According to CBS Sports, Jeffrey Kessler, a lawyer representing Elliot, made a “claim that the ‘Elliott Report’ (the document produced after almost a year of investigatory work) ‘deliberately omitted a conclusion’ as to what sort of punishment the league should hand down for Elliott.”
The lawsuit that Elliot has handed the NFL is an attempt to get the suspension lifted.
