American businesswoman and 2016 presidential candidate Carly Fiorina rejects the “liberal lexicon” that demands American women think and vote based on gender, rather than brains, she told The Daily Caller News Foundation in an exclusive interview.

Feminists had the temerity to call Fiorina “an offense to women,” but as someone who started as a secretary and rose to be a corporate titan and run for president, her life is a mockery to their charge.

Many women didn’t vote for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “because they didn’t trust her,” Fiorina told TheDCNF. “They thought she was corrupt. They thought she hadn’t produced any results, and they thought she would be a lousy president. Count me in.”

Fiorina emphasized that theme during her presidential bid. “Flying is an activity, Mrs. Clinton,” she wrote in 2015. “It is not an accomplishment.”

Clinton’s book tour is “harming herself and diminishing herself even further”  after her unexpected election defeat, Fiorina told TheDCNF. “Losers whine about the rules,” she added, referring to Clinton’s criticisms about the Electoral College.

The experience of running for president, Fiorina said, was grueling and exhausting, but also uplifting. She told TheDCNF she was heartened to encounter citizens who were savvy enough to know Washington is not living up to its promises or solving their problems.

For Republicans in Congress who want to end intra-party discord and advance their agenda, Fiorina offered a simple prescription: Produce results and keep your campaign promises. But political parties seem to raise more money when they keep the nation polarized, Fiorina said, with Democrats focusing on victims and resentments instead of productive policies.

Now that the tone of political discourse is getting in the way of getting things done, Fiorina predicts popular frustration to rise if Republicans can’t govern despite having majority control of the House, Senate, and White House.

The biggest threat, Fiorina said, is that Americans forget who they are, lose their constitutional grounding, and let the government take over their lives. Republicans and Democrats alike are too often guilty of empowering Washington at the expense of the rest of America, according to Fiorina.

She offers a simple test for politicians: “Are you moving money, power, and decision-making out of Washington?” Politicians who change policy but still concentrate power in Washington aren’t doing enough, according to Fiorina.

Currently, Fiorina spends most of her time promoting leadership, which requires the courage to withstand criticism for challenging the status quo. Fiorina’s promotion of leadership is both needed and compelling.
