RNC spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany exploded on journalist Jamila Bey after she suggested that the right’s attacks on Rep. Nancy Pelosi are sexist.

WATCH:

Bey agreed during a Fox News panel Friday that Pelosi calling $1000 bonuses “crumbs” wasn’t the “greatest comment,” but argued that the Republican Party should be careful about how they attack her.

“The thing that Republicans really have to think about right now, however, is that with this ‘Me Too’ moment…you really have to tread carefully when you talk about Nancy Pelosi being ‘this woman who is causing harm, doing problems.'”

McEnany jumped in and chided Bey for making criticism of Pelosi about her gender.

“Jamila, you just said we can’t criticize Pelosi because of her gender?” McEnany asked incredulously. “Do you understand what a ridiculous argument that is? Make that argument, please, because I promise you, you will lose and we will expand our majorities.”

Bey tried to clarify her point, but ended up right back where she started.

“To criticize the fact that, ‘oh, this woman, this woman, this woman,’ there are a lot of voters — a lot of women voters and a lot of men voters — who are tired of that trope,” Bey asserted.

“No one is saying that except you!” McEnany said exasperatedly. “What we’re saying is she shut down the government for illegal immigrants, what we’re saying is she calls the idea of giving the American people more of their money ‘armageddon.'”

“I didn’t mention her gender, you’re the first person to do that,” she continued. “Your party sees everything though the purview of gender.”
