MSNBC host Joe Scarborough thinks Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt has friends in high places who are protecting him from being fired.
“I don’t understand why they’re suggesting that this guy is the only person that can cut regulations at the EPA,” Scarborough said on “Morning Joe” Tuesday. “I mean, you can find other people who are just as ideologically conservative as this man.”

“I just wonder, is there, does he have a sponsor? Does he have — is there a big-money — is he a Sheldon Adelson guy?” Scarborough continued. “Is there somebody that gives [President Donald] Trump and gives the Republican Party hundreds of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars, that is protecting Scott Pruitt? Because that’s the only thing that makes sense here.”
This isn’t the first time Scarborough has obsessed over Pruitt. Republicans would “bleed support” in the upcoming midterm elections because Trump refused to “fire a corrupt head of the EPA,” Scarborough said earlier this month.
