President Trump went after one of his favorite targets — the “fake news” media outlets — during his Saturday evening rally in Lewis Center, Ohio. He attacked MSNBC specifically, labeling them “the worst” of all.

“So corrupt and disgusting,” he called the outlet.

“These rallies are very successful,” the president said. “They hate when I do them, although they like the ratings, I must say. You know, they’re torn. They’re torn. Do we put him on and get good ratings and let him say, like, ‘CNN is a fake.’ Or, do we not put him on? They’re very torn. Often times I’m getting ready to do my fake news with CNN and MSNBC. MSNBC is so corrupt and so disgusting. So disgusting. I would say almost worse, they are really a fake news group of people.”

But the good news, according to Trump, was that “the guys that we love” were winning the ratings game against those he has referred to as “fake.”

Here’s the good news. The guys that we love, right? They are blowing them away on ratings. Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson, Steve Doocy, Ainsley, Bryan —

So many others. They are blowing them away in the ratings. Excuse me, I almost forgot, I would have been in big trouble, the great Lou Dobbs. You see, oh, Maria Bartiromo … I’m in trouble. I know I left out probably 10 but I really didn’t think I would be doing this. CNN is down at the bottom of the totem pole. MSNBC isn’t even close to being next to these shows. We are blowing them away.

The Saturday night rally was a move to shore up support for Ohio state Senator Troy Balderson, the Republican running in a special election to replace retiring Rep. Pat Tiberi in the district once held by Ohio Governor John Kasich.
