Tucker Carlson interviewed Democratic Congressman and presidential hopeful John Delaney about his campaign on Monday night.

“I think there are some areas where there’s bipartisan consensus. Things like infrastructure, criminal justice reform, dealing with the opioids crisis. I mean the way I look at it Tucker, there are things in our debate we kind of agree with each other on and there are things we disagree with each other on,” Delaney said.

“There is a role for both things. But we never spend any time on the things we agree with each other on and that’s part of the problem. It’s kind of simple but our job is to do both,” he continued.

“The American people are far greater than the sum of our political parties. It is time for us to rise above our broken politics and renew the spirit that enabled us to achieve the seemingly impossible,” his campaign website says.

Delaney recently published “The Right Answer: How We Can Unify Our Divided Nation.”

“We agree we should reform our criminal justice system. I mean we’ve looked at the data and it’s been very unfair for a very large number of our citizens. I think we agree that this opioid crisis is kind of ravaging our country right now and there are things we need to do there. So I think there’s actually a long list of things.”
