Five Law Enforcement Officers Shot In South Carolina, Suspect Now In Custody

Five law enforcement officers were shot in Florence, South Carolina on Wednesday. The suspected shooter has been apprehended by police.

The “active shooting situation is over and the suspect is in custody,” according to the Florence County Emergency Management Department.

Three deputies and two city officers were shot, sheriff deputy Chief Glenn Kirby said, according to CNN affiliates. There has also been no report on the condition of the officers who were injured in the shooting and it’s unclear whether the officers were the target of the attack.

There are still very few details that have been released publicly at this point. The suspect’s name has not been released and neither has any potential motive.
