The official cause of rapper Mac Miller’s death has been released, and the details are tragic.

Mac Miller, real name Malcolm McCormick, was found dead in his bed after hosting a party at his San Fernando Valley, Calif. home in September. The details surrounding his death remained unclear for months — most people had been waiting for the official report from the L.A. County Coroner’s Office to come out before jumping to conclusions. The official ruling is being called “mixed drug toxicity,” which means Miller died from a combination of lethal substances, including fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol.

The rapper was discovered in his bedroom around 12:00 p.m. the next day by a handler, already blue and in a praying position, TMZ reports.

He was found “kneeling forward with his face resting on his knees,” the report reads. “The assistant described him as already being ‘blue’ during the 911 call. There was a 1/4-inch abrasion on the bridge of his nose, and there was blood coming out of one nostril.”

An empty bottle of booze was reportedly found in his room, along with an empty bottle of prescription pills and a rolled up $20 bill with a white powdery substance on it.

What’s more, it’s not exactly the individual substances that killed Mac. Reports indicate the rapper was killed by a deadly combination of all three.

Miller had just been through a tough breakup with his longtime girlfriend Ariana Grande, who reportedly ended things with him because of his drug use.

Grande thanks Miller for their relationship and calls him an “angel” in her latest single, “Thank U, Next.”
