The man, Jose Irizarry, is suing the sports bar and lounge after he was “struck in the head and body during the brawl;” he is looking for the club to cover damages including pain and suffering, lost wages, and medical expenses, TMZ reported. The suit alleges that Irizarry’s injuries were a result of the club’s insufficient security presence and crowd control.

The incident reportedly occurred on the same night as boxer Jermall Charlo was involved in an altercation and was robbed of diamonds and other jewelry. The plaintiff’s attorney claims that the fight that Irizarry was involved in was a part of the same incident.

The 48-year-old Jay-Z — real name Shawn Carter — was not explicitly mentioned in the lawsuit.
