“Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is expected to crush the box office this weekend.

The Hollywood Reporter reported the following Thursday about the second film in the “Harry Potter” prequel series:

The sequel will easily place No. 1 with a $65 million-plus debut in North America and north of $250 million globally. The movie is expected to pull in especially strong numbers in the U.K., Rowling’s home country.

In North America, it remains to be seen whether Crimes of Grindelwald can match the $74.4 million debut of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on the same pre-Thanksgiving weekend in 2016.

I can’t say that I’m overly surprised here. There’s a massive audience for anything tied to “Harry Potter.” The audience is built in without having to lift a finger.

The second film in the series also has looked much better than the first, despite the awful reviews.

Will I end up seeing this movie? Of course, I simply can’t miss out on anything “Harry Potter” related. It’s just way too big for me to want to not know what happens.

I will not be pleased, however, if it’s as bad as being reported. This isn’t a hard situation to figure out. Just give us dark Potter content and throw in a babe like Emma Watson in the originals. (SLIDESHOW: These Women On Instagram Hate Wearing Clothes)
