Since being picked number one overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz’s career has been off to a slow start, and now the 2nd year guard is reportedly no longer in Philadelphia’s long term plans.

According to a report from amicohoops.net, the 76ers have been shopping Fultz and are engaged in trade talks with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 76ers have reportedly been interested in Cavaliers’ veteran guard Kyle Korver who began his career in Philadelphia. Amico notes that both Korver’s and Fultz’s contracts match to make a trade possible, although there have been no indications that has been discussed. (RELATED: This Cleveland Cavaliers Star Wants Out. Fultz career has been hampered by injuries and his future has been the subject of constant speculation since the 76ers landed superstar forward Jimmy Butler.

After being injured for most of his rookie season, Fultz sat out the playoffs a season ago, but returned this year with high expectations. However, Fultz has not fully recovered and his awkward shooting motion has been the butt of jokes on social media.

Fultz is currently averaging 8.2 points and 3.1 assists, but has shown flashes of brilliance. It’s still too early to label him a bust, but a change of scenery seems necessary. The 76ers should be trying to get the most value out of him while they can, while a rebuilding franchise like the Cavaliers would give him a chance to improve his game outside of the spotlight.
