Melania Trump looked festive Tuesday when she showed up in bright red stretch pants and a black sweater at an American Red Cross event in support of the troops.

The first lady showed off her great fashion sense once more in the fitted pants she paired with a long-sleeved black sweater. It had red and white stripes on the shoulders and along-the-scoop neckline. (RELATED: Ivanka Turns Heads In Gorgeous Yellow Plaid Skirt Suit)

She completed the great look with loose hair and bright red flats.

FLOTUS and Vice President Mike Pence’s wife, Karen Pence, gathered with volunteers to make comfort kits that “will be sent to members of the military who have been deployed all over the world,” per Trump’s spokesperson Stephanie Grisham.

A New York Post reporter tweeted a picture of the card that was included in each of the care kits.

“This kit was packed with care by the spouses of President Donald J. Trump’s cabinet and spouses of military service members who volunteer with the American Red Cross,” the card reads. “We joined these spouses at the Red Cross Hall of Service in Washington, D.C., to pack this kit as a way to honor your service. It is a token of appreciation from home during this Christmas season and an expression of our country’s deep respect and gratitude for your military service.”

Receiving a standing ovation before she spoke, the first lady talked about the importance of remembering those overseas who are serving our country during the Christmas season, per a White House pool report.

“I am very thankful for the men and women in uniform who sacrifice daily to protect not only the American people but our freedoms and way of life,” the first lady explained. “Our prayers remain with all those serving overseas, and for the families who wait for them to come home.”

“To the mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, and sisters who will be away from home as they answer duty’s call–we thank you for your service,” she added. “These comfort kits are one small way that we can say thank you and honor the sacrifices that members of the military make year around, and I encourage people everywhere to consider participating in acts of service such as volunteering during this holiday season.”
