TMZ reports that Kroll was doing drugs — a mix of heroin and cocaine — with his girlfriend the night before he was found dead. His girlfriend left his apartment early on Saturday morning, but she claims Kroll seemed fine upon her exit. (RELATED: Mac Miller Dead From An Apparent Overdose. Here’s What We Know)
His girlfriend reportedly called the authorities when she hadn’t heard from him all day. They went in to check on him sometime early Sunday morning and found him dead, lying face down on his bed surrounded by drug paraphernalia. Police say detectives seized his laptop and several cell phones so they can try to track down where he obtained the substances.
It’s worth mentioning that his girlfriend has not been charged in connection with Kroll’s death.
He was 35 years old.
