Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is going back to spring training with the New York Yankees.
Wilson’s MLB agent Mark Rodgers announced the news on MLB Network Radio Thursday. The Super Bowl winning gunslinger also attended spring training with the Yankees last season.
Russell Wilson will attend spring training with the #Yankees this year, as he did in 2018, his @MLB agent, Mark Rodgers, just told us on @MLBNetworkRadio. @MLBNetwork @Seahawks

I know a lot of people get a kick out of Wilson going to spring training, but I absolutely hate it.
It’s good PR for the Yanks, but it’s a waste of time for Wilson. The Seahawks pay him to win Super Bowls. I’m not sure how attending Yankees training in Florida helps the Seahawks get better. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t.

I’m saying this as a massive Russell Wilson fan, he needs to drop this whole baseball shtick. He is never going to play in the majors.
It’s simply not going to happen. He’s a superstar NFL quarterback, and to pretend this is anything other than a waste of time just means that we’re not being honest with ourselves.
I want him on the field practicing and getting reps with his offense. I don’t want him down in Florida throwing baseballs around.
