Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded to flippant criticisms from President Donald Trump by comparing the president to a bar patron Monday.

As he departed the White House for a speech, Trump was asked about Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks calling him a “racist.” A reporter shouted at him, “Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has called you a racist,” to which Trump replied, “Who did?” The reporter repeated, “Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez.”

“Who cares?” Trump said, waving his hand dismissively. (RELATED: Ocasio-Cortez Says ‘No Question’ Trump Is Racist)

Ocasio-Cortez quickly replied to the remarks on Twitter, saying she understands “guys like this” because of her bartending years. “I bartended for *years* in New York City. I understand guys like this like the back of my hand,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, adding, “We got under his skin.”

Trump has famously never drunk alcohol. During the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Trump told reporters, “I don’t drink beer. I’ve never had a beer. And I’m not saying good or bad, some people like it. I just choose not to do that for a lot of reasons.”

Trump has called his abstinence from alcohol “one of my only good traits.”

Tony Schwartz, co-author with Trump of The Art of the Deal, told the Washington Post earlier this year:

“One of the primary reasons I think Trump avoided alcohol was that he never wanted to be out of control. It made him feel weak and vulnerable in any circumstance where he felt that was the risk.”

Ocasio-Cortez followed up her tweet by knocking Trump’s income and saying she would tax 70 percent of it.
