Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston sounded very excited about new head coach Bruce Arians with some recent comments.

Arians was hired about a week ago to take over the Bucs, and his quarterback is clearly a fan. (RELATED: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Hire Bruce Arians As Head Coach)

“It means a lot to me, man. And that’s just how he is, he stands behind his players and I’m happy our team gets to see that side of him. And I just can’t wait to get in the building and work with him,” Winston told the Tampa Bay Times Monday when discussing Arians’ praise of the young gunslinger.

It sure is amazing how quickly things can change in the NFL. There was a point this season where it seriously looked like Winston might not even be on the roster in 2019.

Now, it looks like he’s locked in with Arians running the show. I don’t think a whole lot of people saw this coming in September or October.

Arians will also absolutely have his work cut out for him with Winston. The former Florida State QB has had a rocky time in the NFL. It hasn’t been overly smooth at all.

If Winston can’t get back on track, then the Bucs are pretty much screwed. That might sound dark, but it’s true. (RELATED: Here Are The Best Moments You Might Have Missed From The NFL Divisional Playoff Games)

The franchise rides and dies with his play. Arians will need to find the best way to squeeze all the talent out of him or they’ll both likely be looking for new jobs.
