Oklahoma quarterback Austin Kendall is likely bouncing from the Sooners after they pulled restrictions on him transferring.

CBS Sports reported the following on the situation Wednesday:

Oklahoma quarterback Austin Kendall will be allowed to transfer to West Virginia and become immediately eligible, CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd confirmed Wednesday evening. Oklahoma was originally seeking to block Kendall’s ability to become immediately eligible at West Virginia as a grad transfer. Kendall, who will be on campus in Morgantown on Thursday, will now be eligible to play for the Mountaineers during the 2019 season. USA Today Sports’ George Schroeder was first to report the news regarding Kendall’s eligibility.

This has actually been a bit of a growing story in the world of college football. It really looked like Oklahoma would try to stop Kendall from playing at a different Big 12 school, and the backlash quickly started to grow.

I’m guessing that’s one of the reasons why the school slammed it into reverse when it came to their decision. Plus, they just added Jalen Hurts to the roster, which means Kendall is essentially not needed at all. (RELATED: Oklahoma Quarterback Austin Kendall Considers Transferring)

Kendall is a pretty talented quarterback, but he’s not nearly talented enough to play over Hurts. However, WVU needs a new QB and he could be the perfect guy for the job.

If you can’t get reps where you’re at, then leaving is probably your best option. It looks like that’s exactly what Kendall intends to do.

Now, we’ll see what he can produce with the Mountaineers. Something tells me he might have a point to prove against the Sooners.
