Demaryius Thomas’ time with the Houston Texans is about to come to an end.
According to James Palmer, Thomas will be released from the Texans at some point today. The dynamic receiver is currently recovering from a torn achilles.

It’s pretty wild that they made such a big deal of trading for him with Denver, and now he’s going to be gone after just part of one season with the franchise. (RELATED: Denver Broncos Fire Head Coach Vance Joseph)
The reality of the situation is that Thomas is on the wrong side of 30, and he’s banged up. That might be okay for a star quarterback, but that’s not a great sign for a receiver.
It’s widely known in the NFL that receivers generally fall off a cliff at the age of 30. It doesn’t mean that the former Broncos star can’t play. He certainly can, but coming back from injuries in the NFL after the age of 30 isn’t exactly easy.
If Thomas does rehab quickly and gets back on the field, then I’m sure some team out there will offer him a deal.
Will it be for a ton of money? Probably not, but he’s already made $70 million in his career. He shouldn’t exactly be struggling to put food on the table.
