The Wizards learned the hard way in a Monday night loss to the Pistons that trying to dunk on Thon Maker isn’t smart.
Wizards forward Bobby Portis tried to dunk on the Pistons center, and it didn’t go well. It looked like Portis had a perfect avenue for the dunk.
Against most defenders, it likely would have been an easy slam. Maker had other plans. He met the Wizards’ big man at the rim and rejected him in outstanding fashion. (RELATED: Lonzo Ball Silences All Of His Critics With Unreal Dunk)

The only thing worse than getting dunked on might be going in for a massive slam and getting rejected at the rim.
You have to love how Maker didn’t even hesitate. He saw him coming, and elevated right with Portis. That’s big boy basketball. (RELATED: Wisconsin Loses Heartbreaking Game To Michigan)

Maker is putting the league on notice now that he’s on a new team. He’s not in Detroit to play games. He’s with the Pistons to put together highlights, and Portis had to learn that lesson the hard way.
