Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn didn’t hold back when asked why the team didn’t go after Kareem Hunt.

Hunt, who was cut by the Chiefs after appearing to strike a woman, has been all over the news ever since the Browns signed him earlier this week. It really sounds like the Lions didn’t even give a second thought to bringing in the talented but troubled running back. (RELATED: Kareem Hunt Signs With The Cleveland Browns)

“We talked about it internally and he’s a player that we didn’t feel comfortable bringing to the Lions for numerous issues. I stand by that. That’s my word. I want good players and I want good people in this organization,” Quinn told people Monday during a question and answer segment with fans of the team, according to a Tuesday TMZ report.

I know that I flamed Quinn yesterday for his dumb-as-all-hell comments about drafting a quarterback in the first round, but he hit the nail on the head with these comments.

Credit where credit is due. As a massive Lions fan, I’m proud of my organization for not giving Hunt the time of day. We can find other ways to win than bringing him onto the roster. I can promise you that much.

Winning is the most important thing to do in the NFL, but winning the right way is what life is all about.

We don’t need Hunt, I don’t want that guy anywhere near my locker room and I’m glad he’s not playing in Detroit.

Is he talented? Absolutely. The man can run the football with the best of them, but I still don’t care. Much like Quinn, I want good people in the organization.

I don’t want people who appear to be on film hitting a woman.
