Abby Huntsman referred to Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as “the greatest gift to Republicans” on Monday and suggested that the Democrats make her their official spokeswoman.

Huntsman was responding on ABC’s “The View” to comments made by the freshman congresswoman during an appearance at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin over the weekend, wherein Ocasio-Cortez attacked moderates within her own party.

Joy Behar first noted that what Ocasio-Cortez was saying made sense to her, but Huntsman was quick to challenge her. “That sounds a lot like Trump to me,” she said. “That sounds a lot like Trump but on the left. I think we need more of what Bill Clinton did in the ’90s, working with moderate Republicans.”

Behar was not convinced and went on to claim that Ocasio-Cortez sounded “like a college professor” espousing a philosophy. (RELATED: Joy Behar Tries To Call Trump ‘Soft’ On Russia — Abby Huntsman Makes Her Regret It)

Huntsman went on to highlight another comment from SXSW in which Ocasio-Cortez claimed that “where we are” as Americans is “ten percent away from garbage.”

Referencing a World War II veteran who recently visited the show, Huntsman went on, “Do you think he feels that this country is ten percent away from garbage? I think the Democratic Party should make her their spokesperson, they should use her ideas as their platform. She is the greatest gift to Republicans.”
