Katy Perry ‘Collapses’ During ‘American Idol’ Performance

Katy Perry feigned “collapsing” as contestant Uché Ndubizu’s conducted a rendition of Bruno Mar’s “Finesse” Sunday night on “American Idol.”

The 34-year-old pop star became overwhelmed by Ndubizu’s dancing and singing during the popular ABC singing competition and by the end of his set the “Roar” singer was fanning herself before pretending to have passed out onto the judges desk, per Fox News. “Excuse me, are we allowed to show that performance on television?” the “Dark Horse” hitmaker declared. “I mean, whatever happens in this competition just keep swinging. You’re going to hit. You’ve come so far … it’s miraculous.”(RELATED: Katy Perry Accidentally Flashes ‘Idol’ Judges [VIDEO])

Country star Bryan then compared the performance to something that would kick off an award show.

“That was like the opening of the best awards show I’ve ever been to,” Bryan explained.

Ndubizu’s is one of the favorites and one of the top 14 performers selected for season 17 on the reality competition show. Monday night, the final top 10 will be announced and Ndubizu is hoping to make the cut and get into the next round. And all that love from the judges is sure to help.

It is not the first time this season that Perry has been moved by one of the contestant’s performances and there is sure to be more as the countdown to the winner continues.
