Detroit Red Wings legend Pavel Datsyuk will be visiting the team’s facilities Thursday.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the legendary scorer will visit the team’s arena with his family after he recently left his KHL team in Russia. His agent already stated that the NHL team he’d join if he returned to the league would be the Red Wings. (RELATED: One Of The Greatest Players In NHL History Might Be Contemplating A Comeback)

At this time, there haven’t been any official talks between Datsyuk and the Red Wings about returning, but the speculation is happening for obvious reasons. The Detroit Free Press also reported he could possibly remain in Russia playing for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in his hometown.

I would love to see the Russian-born star back in a red and white uniform for Detroit. Nothing would make fans happier. The team has dropped off since he left the league.

We went from being a contender year in and year out to not even making the playoffs. It hasn’t been a fun ride.

Adding Datsyuk back into the lineup would instantly rejuvenate the team.

Now, will this happen for sure? It’s way too early to tell, but it looks like the writing is on the wall. He’s played in Russia for the past few years, and he may have decided it’s time to return to the NHL.

I certainly hope that’s the case. It’d be awesome to see him playing for the Wings again.
