Clarkson shared the news of her surgery on Twitter and updated fans on her condition.

“Not gonna lie … I may or may not have broken down in tears after the show from pain,” she tweeted. “BUT thanks 2 all the amazing people @ Cedars-Sinai I flew home directly after the event, nailed the surgery early this morning, & feeling awesome now! Bye bye appendix,” she tweeted.

Many fans tweeted their support for Clarkson after learning of her surgery.

One Twitter user wrote, “Kelly Clarkson has been suffering from appendicitis all week [and] had her appendix removed this morning — yet last night she flawlessly hosted an award show and sang two songs without showing any sign of discomfort. How could you do anything BUT STAN?!?”

Another added, “Kelly Clarkson must be a superwoman performing an awards show with appendicitis, I couldn’t even get up let alone be out singing and dancing omg.”
