Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is once again behaving like an idiot.
Mayfield, who was the first pick in the 2018 draft, got into a weird exchange with Fox Sports pundit Colin Cowherd on Twitter and called him a “donkey” in reference to a video clip from “The Herd.”
The strange thing is Cowherd’s video segment wasn’t anti-Mayfield at all. Despite that, Baker still felt the need to behave like a clown on social media. You can check out the whole exchange below.
“John Dorsey got fired by Kansas City. @BakerMayfield was a walk-on twice and Cleveland’s been the laughing stock of the league. They’re all peas in a pod. They work together.” —@ColinCowherd pic.twitter.com/ojvyM6mABB

you’re a donkey man

I wish you would LISTEN before ruining my weekend. I worked very hard on this. Sad. Still hope we are friends despite our differences. Good luck against Tennessee. They are terrible and you guys should win 50-0.

Why would I listen to you instead of just reading the quote? That’s exactly what you do when you go on air… skip all the details and important stuff, then go for the irrational opinion for clicks.

We’ve got to stop meeting like this. People will talk. says big things ahead

Seriously, what the hell is Mayfield doing? Every second he wastes on social media is one second he could spend practicing. Does beefing with Colin Cowherd on Twitter put the ball in the end zone?
I can answer that question for all of you: the answer is no. It’s a gigantic no. He’s the face of a franchise, and he should hold himself to a much higher standard. (RELEASED: Kareem Hunt Signs With The Cleveland Browns)

I want to cheer for Mayfield. I honestly do. He’s a fun player to watch, and there’s a lot about his confidence to like.
However, it’s garbage like the exchange above that makes it just so damn hard. Social media is a cancer for people in his shoes, and he shouldn’t spend any time on it at all.
All he should be focused on is winning games. Once he wins a Super Bowl, then he can spout off online all he wants.

Until then, Mayfield needs to put the phone down and relax. You’d think somebody in the Browns organization would already have told him this, but I guess not.
