Detroit Lions owner Martha Ford apparently no longer tolerates losing and expects to go to Super Bowls.

Team President Rod Wood recently addressed the media about Ford and the expectations. He said the following, according to Fox 17:

I think Mrs. Ford is a much different owner than her husband. She has a lot less patience for mediocrity, which is why we have made some of the changes we’ve made. When I was hired and we had the choice of a general manager, I wanted to go to an organization that is used to winning and doesn’t know anything but winning. That’s how we landed on Bob Quinn. Then, after we decided on a head coach, we looked at the same thing and a coach looking for someone who doesn’t expect less than competing for the Super Bowl every year.

Inject this kind of language directly into my veins. You’re damn right she shouldn’t have patience for the garbage product we’ve seen on the field for the vast majority of my lifetime.

We have an elite quarterback in Matthew Stafford, and we still don’t win. It’s disgusting and unacceptable.  If you’re not frustrated as all hell, then you’re not paying attention. (RELATED: Detroit Lions Draft Iowa Tight End T.J. Hockenson 8th Overall)

In my 27 years of life, the Lions have won 10 or more games a grand total of four times and have never won a playoff game. It’s absurd.

I want Martha Ford to operate like a mafia kingpin. I want the organization to be ruthless in all aspects. Either win, or get the hell out.

We paid Stafford. We need to get him whatever help is necessary and the excuses need to stop.

This is a dictatorship. It is not a democracy and I want Martha to run the Lions going forward like an elite military unit. We expect success and we expect Super Bowls. If you’re not capable of advancing that goal, then you don’t belong.

I have a lot of optimism about 2019, and I can’t wait to see what product Martha and the Lions put on the field this year.

Let’s all hope like hell it’s better than last year.
