Hank Williams Jr. is reaching out to fans to help him find a family heirloom — his grandfathers’ shotgun — and the person who does will score $6,000.

“NEW AND IMPROVED OFFER TO HELP FIND THIS SHOTGUN!!!,” the legendary 69-year-old country singer’s attorney Steve Smith shared via Facebook, per Fox News Tuesday. (RELATED: Hank Williams Jr.: Obama-Boehner Golf Match Like ‘Hitler Playing Golf With Netanyahu’)

He then explained that Williams believes the Remington Model 11/48 16-gauge shotgun is likely somewhere in southern Alabama where he spent a lot of time with his “Granddad Sheppard.” (SLIDESHOW: These Women On Instagram Hate Wearing Clothes)

The “All My Rowdy Friends” hitmaker said he hoped “to pass that old Remington down to my children and grandchildren” and that he’s offering 50 “$100 dollar bills” plus an additional “$1,000 finder’s fee” to whoever finds the gun, “no questions asked.”(SLIDESHOW: 142 Times Josephine Skriver Barely Wore Anything)

“The money is still there plus a $1000 finders fee to whoever can put me in touch with the gun,” Smith explained. “There is no suggestion that the shotgun was ever stolen and NO RISK of any follow-up after a successful recovery. It was probably lost when Hank [Williams] moved from Cullman to Paris — possibly from his cabin on Smith Lake.”

“If the finder would prefer a gun or guitar I’m sure that can be arranged with a proper certificate of authenticity,” he added.

He then gave his email address “steve@smithandsmithllp.com” and the following information for the person that might help them locate this family antique.

Anyone who locates the shotgun with a serial number ending in “58111” is asked to contact Smith at 256-734-4721.
