Suspended FAU quarterback Chris Robison was reportedly briefly investigated for alleged sexual battery against a fellow student.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Robison is still suspended from the team, and it also revealed there was a “brief investigation by university police in December into a student’s allegation of sexual battery against Robison.” The woman reportedly later said the alleged sexual encounter was consensual and charges weren’t filed.

According to the same report, head coach Lane Kiffin hasn’t discussed why Robison is suspended, and it’s not clear at this time if the two are related.

It might be incredibly tough for Robison to get back on the field, and that’s even if he gets unsuspended. If the Owls allow him to play again, there’s still no guarantee he sees the film because Deondre Francois is walking on after leaving Florida State. Robison might not be a bad passer, but he’s not even close to being on the same level on Francois. If the former FSU star is healthy and able to go, then I find it super hard to believe the former Oklahoma quarterback gets his job back.

Now, add in the fact he’s been suspended for all of spring practice, and it really starts to become tough to see a path for the suspended quarterback to get back on the field.

It should be interesting to see what Kiffin decides to do, especially because it would appear like absolutely nothing of relevance came from the investigation.

Like I said above, Robison getting cleared still doesn’t mean he’ll play over Francois.
