A judge rescheduled former contestant of “The Bachelor” Chris Soules’ sentencing hearing Tuesday for his involvement in a fatal crash in 2017.

Judge Andrea Dryer decided to reschedule the hearing after denying requests from the victims’ parents to consider prison time, according to a report published Tuesday by Fox News. Soules was not convicted of causing the death of Kenneth Mosher.

Instead, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for leaving the scene of the crash without providing his address or driver’s license.

Dryer decided the parents of the deceased do not count as victims under Iowa state law and including victim impact statements from the two would, therefore, be inappropriate. The judge ordered a new pre-sentence investigation be completed by the Department of Correctional Services.

Mosher, 66, was driving a tractor when Soules rear-ended her with his pick up truck. The impact rolled Mosher’s tractor into a ditch, killing her. (RELATED: Kelly Ripa Is Disgusted By ‘Bachelor’ Franchise, Hannah B. Explains How She’s Wrong)

Soules called 911 and performed CPR on Mosher, but left the scene after emergency responders arrived. He failed to leave identification information before he left.

The former bachelor’s defense lawyers claimed that the accident was unavoidable because the tractor did not have the flashing lights on.

The impact statements were sealed, but described in court. Mosher’s parents claimed the accident was actually avoidable and urged the judge to consider a two-year prison sentence for Soules.
