Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had a great tweet about Peyton Manning on Wednesday.

The six-time Super Bowl champion posted a photo of himself with the former Colts and Broncos quarterback, and tweeted, “Spoiler alert… we were friends this whole time. Always great to see you Peyton!”

This is another classic moment of worlds colliding. Manning, who won two rings during his storied NFL career, and Brady battled it out for years.

The two men were the faces of their franchises, they were massive rivals and the media built it up to be a great battle on a regular basis. (RELATED: Tom Brady Practices With Suspended Teammate Josh Gordon)

Both men are also big off the field. Brady and Manning are both charismatic, funny and entertaining guys. It was a dream rivalry for the NFL in all facets.

Despite the fact they battled it out for the title of the best gunslinger in the NFL, I think deep down we all knew they were friends.

You can’t have to legends like Manning and Brady and not have them get along. At the very least, there has to be some serious respect between them.

It’s like two great generals on opposing sides. Yes, they do battle on the field, but when they got back home, they have some serious mutual respect.

I’d also pay a ton of money to get a beer with these two. Imagine the stories they could tell. Imagine the knowledge they’d have to share!

Shoutout to Brady for brightening up our day during the offseason with this awesome tweet.
