Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Graham Mertz has dropped some more hype content ahead of the season getting underway.

The freshman phenom, who is engaged in a massive QB battle with Jack Coan, posted a photo himself under the lights on the practice field Sunday. (RELATED: Wisconsin Coach Paul Chryst Has A ‘Pretty Good Idea’ Who Will Be The Starting QB)

He captioned the post, “While you’re asleep…”

You can go ahead and shoot this right into my veins along with all the other millions of Badgers fans spread out across America.

One of the best parts about the college football season is all the hype material that comes out before the games begin. (RELATED: Wisconsin 2019 Football Expectations: Can The Badgers Get 10 Or More Wins?)

You can set your watch to it happening as soon as July rolls around. Mertz has the entire Wisconsin fanbase spun up, and it’s not hard to see why.

I know many fans will try to dissect everything he says and all of his posts leading up to the opener against South Florida, but I’m going to try to keep things simple.

As far as I’m concerned, this is just routine hype material we see star players everywhere post. Having said that, he does seem to talk and carry the kind of swagger I’d expect out of a starting quarterback.

Now, I’m not saying he’s going to start over Coan right away against South Florida. I’m simply saying from a distance, he’s carrying himself like he’s the starting quarterback.

We’ll know in 32 days when either Coan or Mertz runs out to take the first snap against South Florida. Either way, I can’t wait to get started.

It’s going to be one hell of a great time.
