Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield thinks the Giants made a mistake by drafting Daniel Jones.

Jones was the sixth overall pick in the 2019 draft, which did surprise a lot of people. It also apparently really surprised the Oklahoma Heisman winner.

“I cannot believe the Giants took Daniel Jones. Blows my mind,” Mayfield said about his fellow quarterback during a GQ profile published Tuesday. (RELATED: Baker Mayfield Opens Cleveland Browns Training Camp With Incredible Throw To Odell Beckham Jr.)

It’s stuff like this that makes it borderline impossible to cheer for Mayfield. I don’t even really disagree with his statement, but why did he even have to go there?

The Giants picking Jones caused a ton of backlash. He didn’t win at Duke and we have no reason to believe he was the best option on the table for them.

Many people think it was stupid. There’s nothing wrong with thinking the Giants made a bad call. No problem at all.

However, there’s no need for Mayfield to voice his opinion.

By going after Daniel Jones, the Browns star is really just asking for trouble. What did Daniel Jones do to him? Absolutely nothing.

Yet, Mayfield just can’t himself from running his mouth. He just can’t keep himself from constantly jawing.

Mayfield better hope like hell the Browns dominate this year. He’s been in the headlines nonstop, and it’s going to come back and bite him if the wheels fall off.

I hope to see it happen!
