For those of you who don’t know, Howell is an absolute baller. He was ranked as the number three dual threat quarterback in America coming out of high school, and his tape should have fans very excited.

North Carolina hasn’t exactly been great at football lately, and they need some energy injected into the program.

Hiring Mack Brown was one way to get the process started. Starting a true freshman is risky as all hell, but it can also get the fanbase juiced.

It’s always fun whenever a true freshman gets the first team nod because not much is known. Now, a true freshman blowing up the scene is very rare.

Nobody did it better than Trevor Lawrence at Clemson last season, and people just love the unknown. A young man who has never played a snap of college football is about as unknown as it gets.

We’ll have to see how Howell does for the Tar Heels. Will there be some growing pains? I’m sure there will be, but the young man is talented.

There’s no doubt about that at all.
