WASHINGTON (AP) — Antawn Jamison has told the Washington Wizards fans that players and coaches are “very embarrassed” by the events surrounding the Gilbert Arenas gun investigation.

Jamison took a microphone and made a rare address from the center of the court before Friday night’s game against Orlando.

He specifically mentioned a photo taken of the team laughing at Arenas’ antics before Tuesday’s game at Philadelphia, where Arenas pointed his index fingers at his teammates as if he were firing a pair of guns.

Jamison said the players “never meant to make light of the situation” and that the team will do everything it can to make the Wizards “one of the most respected organizations in the league.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Wizards coach Flip Saunders says he has met with the grand jury regarding the Gilbert Arenas gun investigation and indicated that players on his team have also met with authorities.

Saunders also confirmed that he has banned gambling on the team plane.

Saunders said he was before the grand jury on Thursday and that some of his players spoke to authorities on Friday before the team’s game against Orlando.

As for gambling on the plane, the coach said he did away with that on Dec. 21 — the date of the locker room confrontation between Arenas and Javaris Crittenton in which Arenas pulled out guns he was keeping in his locker. The teammates’ dispute began during a card game on a trip home from the West Coast two days earlier.
