BOULDER, Colo.—The trial of a woman who says she was evicted because she refused to remove Easter decorations is underway in Boulder.
Carol Burdick says her landlord unjustly told her to remove a display of Easter stickers, plastic grass, and Peeps marshmallow candies from her door shortly after Easter last year.

After Burdick refused, the landlord removed the decorations and said Burdick was in violation of her lease.

The company that owns the property evicted Burdick, saying she didn’t pay her rent. Now the company is suing for unpaid rent and attorneys’ fees.

Wednesday’s proceedings included testimony from a self-described Peeps expert who said the candies can be safely stored for years.
