Mike Lee is running for the U.S. Senate in Utah on the Republican Party ticket. He served as an assistant U.S. Attorney in Salt Lake City, was Utah Republican Governor Jon Huntsman Jr.’s general counsel from January 2005 to June 2006, and clerked for Justice Sam Alito at the U.S. Supreme Court. He is now an attorney in private practice.

Lee recently agreed to answer 8 questions from The Daily Caller’s own S.E. Cupp:

S.E. Cupp (SE): What’s the worst thing you’ve eaten on the campaign trail?

Mike Lee (ML): On a trip back from a rural county convention, we stopped to get gas and the station had a food counter with many hot food items. I chose a smoked turkey leg. It was like a rock and tasted just about the same.

SE: You’re put in charge of national unemployment. What do you do?

ML: I would drop the corporate tax as well as the capital gains tax to spur investment by job creators so that we could spur job growth.

SE: What’s your favorite work of fiction?

ML: “To Kill a Mockingbird”

SE: You can sing any karaoke song and kill it. Which one do you pick?

ML: Styx, “Come Sail Away”

SE: Politicians are much maligned in America right now. If you want some love, why not go into the NFL or hip hop?

ML: Because I lack the skills necessary for either.

SE: Who would you want to play you in a movie?

ML: Colin Hanks

SE: Your house is going up in flames and you can save one (non-living) thing. What is it?

ML: The keys to the car to make my get away.

SE: If you can make one promise to voters, what would it be?

ML: To reduce the cost, size and scope of the Federal Government.
