Ryan Reynolds tweeted Friday the first image of the actor in his “Deadpool” costume, and it reinforces why he’s perfect for the “X-Men” spinoff.
Reynolds’ comedic notoriety from roles like “Van Wilder” and “Waiting,” coupled with action roles in “Green Lantern” and “Safe House” make the actor ideal for Marvel’s sarcastic, freewheeling mutant mercenary, whom he first portrayed in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”
For fans familiar with the character, Reynolds’ naturally suitable sense of humor is evident.

No bears were harmed in the making of this photo. Though many bears likely turned on.

So happy to be filming #Deadpool in Vancouver. I left this great city a boy… and returned, a marginally taller boy.

The film was reportedly all but cancelled until CGI test footage featuring Reynolds’ voice acting leaked last year, spawning a fan driven outcry for Fox to make the film.
