No one was more gleeful of BuzzFeed‘s bad news this week than David Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports who received what he felt was a galling cease and desist letter from BuzzFeed‘s legal department.
Portnoy wasted no time getting back to BuzzFeed with a how dare you “fuck you” response.
And now he’s outright gloating about the site’s mistaken earning projections.
Before his thoughts is a big, square, black screen that reads: “BUZZFEED SUCKS.”
Portnoy cracked, “Oh there’s a shock. The company that is built on nothing is starting to struggle.”
He went on to wonder who works for BuzzFeed. Can regular people even name anyone who works there?
“Plagiarism, algorithms, listicles are all fine and dandy but you can’t build empires on that, Portnoy wrote. “You need personalities. It doesn’t matter how much shit your throw at the wall if it’s all shit.”
The BS founder boasted that at least his sites’ fans know their writers.
Which is more than he can say for BuzzFeed.
