A clip of Sinaloa Cartel boss Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman acting like a family man in an old home video is going viral in Mexico.

Most Mexican and Spanish-speaking media posted a video of El Chapo attending a party for his goddaughter Friday. A thirty-something Chapo with a Bugs Bunny-sounding voice looks like a friendly family man in the video despite his leadership in a murderous cartel.

El Chapo’s goddaughter, Grecia Venegas Oviedo, who is visible in much of the video, released the clip, according to Univision Noticias. “I only knew him, and for me he was always Joaquin Guzman and he always will be,” Oviedo said of the drug kingpin’s personality, according to CNN en Español.

Mexican media outlets have commented on the peculiar timing of the release of the old home clip. Oviedo’s father, Julián Venegas Guzmán, a pal of El Chapo’s, disappeared in April, according to Mexican publication Proceso. The goddaughter of the Sinaloa Cartel boss claims that the Mexican authorities are not properly investigating her father’s disappearance due to his cartel ties.

The cartel leader is currently in prison near Ciudad Juarez and is appealing his extradition to the U.S. It has been widely reported that the Sinaloa Cartel chief will likely be tried for multiple federal crimes by the Eastern District of New York.

El Chapo achieved international infamy after breaking out of prison in July 2015 through an almost mile-long tunnel. The leading drug trafficker was recaptured by Mexican Marines in January. Right after the crime lord was recaptured, Rolling Stone published an interview of the Sinaloa Cartel head conducted by Hollywood actor Sean Penn.
