Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven told a radio station Tuesday that he is “furious” over gangs of masked young people setting cars on fire in what police believe are coordinated attacks.
Löfven, from the Social Democrat party, said that he is “really furious” over the recent attacks where groups of masked people set up to 80 cars on fire along Sweden’s west coast Monday, The Local reported.
A small group of young people wearing black set up to 60 cars on fire in Swedish city Gothenburg borough Frölunda around 9 p.m. Monday, The Guardian reported. Police also noted that between 30 to 40 people set fire to cars in Trollhättan and other nearby towns. The fires were extinguished by 1 a.m. Police so far arrested two suspected arsonists between ages 16 and 21, Radio Sweden reported.
Gothenburg police said Tuesday that they believed the attacks were coordinated through social media.

Stockholm and Malmö also saw attacks Monday.
“Society will always act hard against this and we must continue to do so … We will do what needs to be done to take care of it and go in hard against this crime,” he added. “You destroy it for yourself. You destroy it for your parents, you destroy it for entire neighbourhoods, for your neighbours, and society must respond very hard.”

Police said that Swedish youths set cars on fire over the past few years around a week before school starts. School starts in Gothenburg Aug. 20.
