Many media outlets chose not to cover Congressman Alcee Hastings’ (D-Fla.) disturbing joke about President Trump drowning during a Florida rally over the weekend.

ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC devoted zero airtime to the incident as of Monday afternoon.

Fox News was the only news outlet to present the clip during a Monday segment of “Fox and Friends.”

“The double standard. Imagine if a Republican said that about in a Democrat office,” Ainsley Earhardt stated. “Imagine if a Republican stood up at a podium said that about President Obama — the last administration. What would be the outcry? Would it be all over the other networks?” (RELATED: Dem Rep. Alcee Hastings Jokes About President Trump Drowning In The Potomac River)

Hastings was retelling a joke from Ari Silver, the son of former Florida state legislator Barry Silver.

“I will tell you one joke,” Hastings said. “Do you know the difference between a crisis and a catastrophe?”

“‘A crisis is if Donald Trump falls into the Potomac River and can’t swim,'” Hastings said, retelling the joke. “‘And a catastrophe is anybody saves his ass.'”
