Alabama is still the heavy favorite to win the college football national championship.

The latest odds, according to Bleacher Report, are below:

  1. Alabama: -260
  2. Clemson: +350
  3. Notre Dame: +900
  4. Georgia: +1200
  5. Ohio State: +1500
  6. Oklahoma: +1800

There’s two main takeaways from these latest odds. First, oddsmakers have next to no real confidence in Notre Dame. They’re a lock for a playoff spot, and +900 gives them a 10 percent chance to win the whole thing. (RELATED: The Final AP College Football Poll Of The Regular Season Is Here. Find Out Who Is Number One)

Let that sink in. They’re the only team with a locked up spot in the playoff, and oddsmakers don’t really think they have any chance at all. Alabama, who is pretty much a lock, has over a 70 percent chance to win the whole thing. Again, that’s a sign oddsmakers have no confidence in the Fighting Irish at all.

Secondly, these odds also indicate that Ohio State is more likely to get in over Oklahoma if they both win their title games, which is the most probable outcome.

I would have to agree with putting the Buckeyes in over the Sooners. They have more impressive wins, they looked unreal against Michigan and I just think they’re better.
