Taylor Swift is supporting political causes again, this time by donating a sizable amount to a LGBTQ organization in Tennessee.

The pop singer donated $113,000 Monday to the Tennessee Equality Project, according to Billboard. The organization supports equal rights for LGBTQ people through legislative advocacy. Along with her donation, Swift sent along a handwritten note to the organization’s leader Chris Sanders.

Sanders shared the note to Facebook. Swift wrote, “I’m so inspired by the work you do, specifically in organizing the recent petition of Tennessee faith leaders standing up against the ‘slate of hate’ in our state legislature.” (RELATED: Car Chase In Rhode Island Ends Following A Crash Into Taylor Swift’s Front Gate)

She continued, “Please convey my heartfelt thanks to them and accept this donation to support the work you and these leaders are doing. I’m so grateful that they’re giving all people a place to worship.”

The “slate of hate” Swift is referencing is a series of bills that were introduced in the state senate. One bill protects the right of religious adoption agencies to operate according to their beliefs, and another allows the state to defend the idea that marriage is between a man and a woman.
