Indiana football coach Tom Allen earned himself some serious cash this weekend after beating Nebraska.
The win over the Cornhuskers was the program’s sixth of the year, and that earned Allen a $100,000 bonus, according to Kevin Brockway. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
He’ll earn another $100,000 for every single win the rest of the way up to nine wins.
Per terms of his contract, IU football coach Tom Allen is guaranteed at least a $100,000 bonus for getting to IU to its sixth win Saturday against Nebraska. Bonus can increase to $200K for seven wins, $300K for eight wins and $400K for nine wins. #iufb

On one hand, it’s kind of sad Indiana is handing out bonuses for winning only six games and up. That’s not what winning programs do.
Could you imagine Paul Chryst or Nick Saban getting a bonus for simply winning six games? Yeah, neither can anybody else that knows football.
It just goes to show that Indiana doesn’t view itself as an elite program, and it’s obviously not.

Having said that, Allen is a solid coach and he has the Hoosiers sitting at 6-2. It’s not easy at all to win in Bloomington.
Most guys couldn’t win there at all, but Allen appears to be making the Hoosiers relatively competitive.

Indiana still has games against Northwestern and Purdue. They’ll probably be favored in both of them, which means eight wins is very attainable for the Hoosiers.
If that happens, Allen’s bonus will get bumped up to $300,000 and Indiana will have their best season since 1993.
We’ll see what happens, but I have a feeling the $100,000 Allen just made won’t be his last of the season.
