Matt Damon’s new movie “Stillwater” looks excellent.
The plot of the film, according to the trailer’s YouTube description, is “An American oil-rig roughneck travels to Marseille, France, to visit his estranged daughter, in prison for a murder she claims she didn’t commit.”
“Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences and a complicated legal system, he soon builds a new life for himself as he makes it his personal mission to exonerate her.” (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)
While I’ll admit that the description didn’t sell it for me, the trailer is a different story. It gives off the vibe of “Taken,” “Man on Fire” and a bit of maybe “True Detective.” Give it a watch below.
Damn, when is the last time Damon made a heater like this one? My pulse is through the roof right now. “Stillwater” looks downright incredible.

Other than “Ford v Ferrari,” I can’t remember the last movie trailer I saw with Matt Damon that interested me this much.
Hell, on the surface, “Stillwater” looks even better than “Ford v Ferrari.”

You can catch “Stillwater” starting July 30th, and I’m definitely going to be watching this one. It’s nice to see Damon can still throw some heat.
P.S.: Am I the only one who got some serious Amanda Knox vibes from this movie? I can’t be the only one, right?
